Leather Flower Tutorial

Was avoiding the housework today and thought I would make something while Ian napped.
Looking through my supplies I found a few scraps of leather and thought this would be a cute gift for a friends birthday. You wanna make one? Here is how...
Draw spiral on back in pen

Cut spiral out

Starting in middle wrap spiral until you have this. You can start on outside of spiral and wind so middle of spiral is on outside of flower but that has a different end shape to it.

Cut some leather or sturdy fabric leaves out and glue (or sew) together like this

Glue flower to top of leather leaves and if you like add a a sparkly silver bead.

Glue a circle and small strip to back like above so you can add a safety pin to back. (Note: superglue was used throughout)

Then wear! Or stick it to a bag, or a miss the pin off and glue it to a photo frame. Enjoy!

It's so hard to buy for girls

We had a neices birthday to buy a gift for. While I know that a doll or similaar would be an easy choice for a girls present I always try to stay away from buying things they already have mountains of (like boys and cars).
So after a little thinking I came up with this
Handmade bean bags, pavement chalk and a little book with old fashioned pavement games. I am hoping she likes it and will get to use it this summer.

Zipper. Take one

Of course with a creating space One must create.

Not perfect, and the zip is a bit squint. But the campervan on the front is just too cute. And look, more of my favourite fabric on the back. It is lined with blue fleece. It's a tad on the roomy side but do you know what?
I am pleased as punch with it :)

I have a craft space.

Yes, I have a craft space all of my own! Not a whole room but a desk and space to create which to me is just as good.
The room has been waiting to be decorated for years and my darling Steve finally painted it. White! Yipee. He wanted magnolia but on walls I much prefer crisp white.
It will also house our dining space, tumble drier, freezer and some of the kids toys. Not bad for a room that is less than 4m x 4m. But do you know what I love it and so does Ian.
You want to see... Ok but be warned it is not quite finished yet but you will get the idea.
Don't be fooled by light through the window it is terribly grey and drizzly here today!
And my cookbooks have a home, and Steve thinks I have lost the plot. Colour organised books! Of course!
Do any of you have a craft space or do you do what I used to? Sew on the sofa or the kitchen side?

Today Ian was 2.

We ate small person birthday cupcakes
Played with our new wooden train set
 Pulled funny faces
Looked way too grown up for Mummy's liking
 Got a little, well weird
But most of all had lots of colourful fun
